ISDN telephones convert your voice directly to a digital signal. The digital signal from the telephone, or a computer, travels the subscriber’s loop to the local exchange, where it can be processed without any conversion. With ISDN, a single common interface including both hardware and software can be used to access other networks and services. At the basis of ISDN is a set of standards developed by the CCID -referred to as the I-Series recommendations.
